Affiliate disclosure

Every outbound button on Kart AI — “Get deal,” an offer row in the price comparison tool, anything that sends you to a retailer — routes through a Kart AI redirect first (a /go/… link) instead of pointing straight at the merchant. That redirect logs that a click happened, and, only where Kart AI has an affiliate relationship configured for that store, adds an affiliate tag or routes through an affiliate network on the way to the retailer.

When no affiliate relationship is configured for a store, the redirect still logs the click but sends you to the retailer's page unchanged. Nothing about the price you pay changes either way — affiliate commissions come out of the retailer's marketing budget, not your wallet.

A deal's heat — the degree number that drives every ranking on Kart AI — is computed only from community signals: upvotes, downvotes, comments, outbound clicks, and how long ago it was posted. Whether a link happens to be an affiliate link, and how much it might pay, never enters that calculation and never buys a better spot on any page.

Paid placements are a separate, clearly different thing: display ads always carry an “Advertisement” or “Sponsored” label and are styled distinctly from deal cards — no heat pill, no vote buttons. Ads are off by default; see About for how Kart AI is funded overall.

• Directly under the “Get deal” button on a deal's own page. On a page of deal tiles — the frontpage, a category, a store, search, your alerts — it is one line above the first tile, covering all of them, because a line inside every card would be unreadable on a page of twenty-five.
• At the top of every price-comparison result page, above the first offer.
• In the footer of every page on the site.

Deals come from two places: community members posting what they found, and leads from paid deal-scout services that Kart AI's editors use strictly as tips. Every curator-sourced deal is rewritten in Kart AI's own words — nothing is republished verbatim from a source newsletter. More on that in About.

Four of those routes publish without a person checking each price first. Rows on the owner's own deal spreadsheet, and links the owner drops in Kart AI's Discord channel, go up automatically when a set of automated checks pass — the price and the crossed-out price come from the retailer's listing or from the owner's own price check, and a person reviews the deal afterwards rather than before. The third is a button on Kart AI's own review screen that publishes a whole list of prepared deals at once, on the owner's instruction: a person presses it, and that press is an instruction about the list rather than a claim about any one deal in it. The fourth is the same list, published on a timer rather than on a press. Since 13 September 2026, on the owner's instruction, every deal that reaches that review screen ready to go up is published automatically — usually within about fifteen minutes, and longer when there is a backlog — with nobody having read that card. Those deals do not all come from the owner: some are found by Kart AI's automated searches, some come in through its Discord channel, and some are links sent in by members of the public, once an editor has entered the price and what it was before. Every automated check that runs on the owner's own deals runs on these too, apart from the one that used to refuse links sent in by the public — the copy is checked for claims it cannot support, the price and crossed-out price must both be present and labelled, and an automated reviewer reads the card and can refuse it. If that reviewer cannot be reached at all, no run starts and nothing is published; if it fails part-way through a run, the card it was reading may already be live and nothing after it is published. If it has been switched off deliberately, the checks above still run and publishing continues without it. Deals from all four routes never carry the green “Price verified” tick. They say “Retailer's listed price, posted” and the time it went up, which is what actually happened. Everything else on the site is published one deal at a time by a person who opened the retailer's page, confirmed the figure and ticked to say so — those are the ones with the tick.

Kart AI does not always have a photograph of the item a deal is about. Where it has none, the card shows a simple illustration of the kind of thing being sold — marked “Illustration, not a photo” on the card and “Illustration, not a product photo” on the deal's own page.

These pictures are generated by an AI image model at Kart AI's request. They are not photographs of the product, they are not supplied by the retailer, and they are not evidence of what you will receive. They are drawn to show the general sort of object. Kart AI asks for no brand, logo, model number or writing of any kind, and checks each finished picture before publishing it; where a deal's own listing does not state a colour or a quantity, the illustration is not asked for one either. An illustration is a stand-in. As soon as Kart AI obtains the retailer's own photograph of an item, that photograph replaces the illustration on every page.

Offers in the compare tool come from retailer product APIs where Kart AI has a provider configured. When none are configured, results come from a clearly labeled demo dataset instead — you'll see a “Demo data” banner whenever that's the case. Either way, clicking through to an offer uses the same redirect-and-disclose approach described above, and may be an affiliate link.
